Mrinalini Datta Mahavidyalaya took its first humble steps on 5th March, 1964, when it was established by Birati Siksha Samsad to provided affordable and quality higher education to the community. The UG Course in Anthropology, Bengali, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Journalism, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, Zoology. All Candidates who have passed the (10+2) H.S or Equivalent Qualifying Examination. Admission Qualification:
A Candidate may be admitted to the first year of three year B.A / B.Sc / B.Com (Honours / General / Major) Courses of Studies on passing H.S (10+2) Examination in General or Vocational Stream conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education in General or Vocational Stream conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination conducted by other State Board / Council or Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya or National Open School recognized by the Distant Learning Council .
Candidates taking up Honours Course a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination or 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. or 50% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
For SC / ST Candidates minimum 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the Subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination taking for Honours course.

The College offer three year UG B.A Honours Course in Bengali (90 seats), English (30 seats), Education (55 seats), History (40 seats), Journalism & Mass Communication (36 seats), Political Science (40 seats), Philosophy (40 seats), Sanskrit (40 seats), Sociology (30 seats).
B.Sc Honours Course in Botany (28 seats), Geography (50 seats), Anthropology (35 seats), Chemistry (25 seats), Economics (20 seats), Physics (22 seats), Mathematics (28 seats), Zoology (22 seats), Chemistry (25 seats).
B.Com Honours Course in Accounting (50 seats),
Major Course ASPV (25 seats). B.A General Course (700 seats), B.Sc General Course (130 seats), B.Com General Course (100 seats).
